Day 3
I walked around 26 miles today and had several interesting conversations - I was asked by a very concerned French motorist if I had a home to go to and after lots of arm waving, I was able to convey that I was 70 miles into a 1600 mile walk - I think she was suitably impressed, but to be honest I have lots of work to do on the local language before I can be sure...
Pitched up my tent for the first time and now listening to my Ipod (loaded by my brother) suitably impressed by some, if not all, of his musical taste.
Following very carefully the recipe from Bear grills adventurers cook book, today I skinned and flambéed with the finest French brandy a road kill badger... I am now writing my blog from a bush close to the D940! (I actually had packet pasta, but thought this sounded more adventurous)

Pete has started his walk across Europe
On the 20th of September 2011 I started my 60 day trek across Europe - It was an emotional day for me, as I said goodbye to my biggest supporters, Myra and Ella. My brother Mike and Andy unexpectedly joined me for my first day. I would like to say a special thank you to a few people, including:
My Sponsors ABC Cars in Harlow Taxi company - Euro let and all that have donated money to my chosen charity; Combat Stress. Thank you to Karen for all she is doing to help me gain PR - especially my mention on the Chris Evans breakfast show. Karen also requested a Bivi Bag from RVOps and it was successful! They are also going to send a superlight mattress. We owe a big thank you to Scott at RVOps for all his help. http://www.rvops.co.uk/
A big thank you to Chris and Dave Smith for giving me a place to sleep during my first 2 days in their beautiful home in Nampont - I really appreciated this, as from tomorrow I'll be camping out!
I have a few more people to say thank you to, including Dave at Pace sheet metal, Bush Fair, who stepped in updated the buggy at very short notice!
Well done and thank you to Roger, who spent days updating the maps for the walk - they are amazing and easy to follow!
Thanks to Scouse Mike for designing my leaflets explaining what I'm doing... already used them a number of times!
Simon Carter for his effortless support and advice!
The baby jogger is amazing - thank you for the message and support Lissa!

4 hour training walk breeze!
After shopping with Emma in London over the weekend, this 4 hour training walk was a breeze! We didn't get lost tonight - which was a bonus! I plan for an 8 hour walk before we set off for the big one :@)

Hatfield Forest Midnight Training Walk
2 hours 45 minutes into our midnight training walk we thought we'd stop in Hatfield Forest and smile for the camera!
16 days to go and feeling ready!
