Day 27

I am pleased to say that 'Doris' is stable, after wrapping twine round her spokes and lots of glue, she is now back to her reliable self, oh, yes, I do apologise if I haven't referred to my trolley as Doris before, but she is my baby ;-)
I walked 29 miles today and can honestly say that had to be the toughest day yet! (mentally and physically).

Got to a village called Blagon, although I didn't manage to see alot of it as I arrived in the dark. We camped in the local woods behind a service station, 5* in wasn't ;-)

I will be saying farewell to my friend Andy tomorrow, when he sets off home first thing in the morning. I would just like to say Thank you to Andy for joining me, we did laugh and he kept me going!  Thanks again for taking all the great photos and sending them to Myra ;-) We will most definitely be catching up when I get home. - Safe journey home Andy.

Day 26

Today started off really well, pushing the trolley along and the wheel hit the curb, the Spoke on the wheel busted! So we had to cut our walk short and only did 15 miles today!

Got to the nearest campsite called Le Littoral campsite in Hourtin, and you'll never guess, oh yeah, the campsite was closed!

We met a couple on site that owned a mobile home and they invited us in, which was very kind, they couldnt help enough. Once we set up camp I had to get down and do a little DIY and try and fix the trolley wheel best i could with glue and string... lets see what happens tomorrow ;-)

Day 25

Today started off really great, got a phone call from my brother Mike, who was sat at the airport having just CLIMBED Kilimanjaro, 'That is great news, Mike you are 'top bloke' and I am so proud of you! ;-) Really pleased to hear from Mike today...

Walked only a mere 16 miles today (lol) ,got to Montalivet, and camped at a place called Les Acaciaas campsite. Not a person in sight. Although the campsite was closed for the season the nice gentleman let us stay there, not only did he do that, he also took us to the local supermarket to buy some dinner. That evening I made sausage and eggs, not quite up to the standard I'm used to at home.

Day 24

Had to catch a ferry to Gironde today, which delayed our walking by 2 hours, had to just sit around waiting!

I'm now in a town called Soulac sur Mer, on a campsite called Amelia Plage, which is absolutely beautiful... The campsite overlooks a lovely beach.

Thinking of having the day off tomorrow, but we'll see when I wake up :-)

Day 23

Walked 26 miles today, weather was very hot today!  Shin very painful (ouch!)

Staying on a campsite in a place called Royan, although the campsite was closed for the season the nice campsite owner let us stay, thank goodness for my 'Magic Cards'.  The owner of the campsite read the card and kept repeating 'Exeptional, Exeptional!'.....
