Day 36

Had a live interview with BBC3 Countys Radio at 8:45am, thanks to Simon Carter (Scouts) I am told this is already on the blog thanks to my brother Mike.

Today was a good day, saw my first sign that said 20 miles to Spain (yippy). OMG I spoke to soon, it was a 18 mile up hill struggle, but I managed to do it with gritted teeth! :-)
Walked apporx 25 miles to a village called Laruns, where I found a hostel for the night, a well deserved sleep!   Tomorrow is a big day for me I will be crossing the boarder.

Day 35

In a village near Ardan, camped under the stars at rugby pitch unable to get a signal.

Day 33

Today I set off from Denise and Steve's feeling fresh and ready for another days walk, Here I walked 30.8 miles, to a place called Pomarez.
My journey gets more Bizarre by the day, I am standing outside a 'Bull Ring' which is in this village called Pomarez, here I decided to take the opportunity to take a couple of photo's when a man came over to me, he looked quite distinguished with a red bandana around his neck. I found out that his name is Francis, his English was quite good and he explained that today was Party time.. He invited me to pitch my tent up, and later on i found out that i was spending the evening with him and 200 other people at a Mobile Home Convention, yes you did hear right! A mobile home convention...
I was invited to join him and his guests in a village hall, the people were all dressed up, and yes, me I had a pair of shorts and a t.shirt on... dressed to kill your probably all thinking lol!   Francis then stopped all the music and got everyone's attention and there i was standing on stage and being introduced to all... Francis was kind enough to explain to everyone about my adventure... Everyone cheered and clapped, I had a great night.    I experienced my first ever taste of FOIE GRAS, that evening I had a wonderful time I had delicious food, and I even danced the Conga!...I later found out that Francis was the ex major of this village and a very important gentleman.  After the party Francis invited me back to his home instead of camping, Goodness as we drove up to his house WOW! It was beautiful, there I stayed the evening and woke up the next day where Francis showed me around the village and his farm. Thank you once again for a great evening and I will be in touch, most definitely!

Day 30

Today has been a good day, I have been excited all day. Walked approx 31 miles today to a place called Tartas. Here I was picked up by my neighbours that live across the road from me in Heath Row, Denise and Steve, they did say that if the times were right that they would happily come and pick me up and I could stay with them in their home in France.
Denise and Steve's journey to come and pick me up was a 2 hour drive there and back, they live in a village called Monbahus, and that i am grateful for. Denise and Steve were very kind, They were great company, I was fed good food and all my washing was done which is a major bonus!  I stayed with Denise and Steve for 2 days, and was thoroughly SPOILT, they took me out and showed me some sights.
Thank you Denise and Steve i had a great time with you, You are more than welcome to the chocolate chip cookies Myra and Ella sent to me that didn't arrive for me on time.. Enjoy.

Day 29

Walked 33 miles today and feel absolutely shattered, it doesn't help that I have the mother of all blisters on my heel! I have been contemplating when it would be a good time to burst it, (something I'm not looking forward to).
Ahh what a relief, did it! I've never seen a blister grow inside your skin before, i could feel the pressure throbbing inside my skin.... Anyway's enough! I have cut it open and have relieved the pain, just call me RAMBO!
